Hello! I have chronic lumbar pain from herniated disc l5-s1 with nerve root compression on L5 -s1 nerve. I had a laminectomy/discetomy done in 2008. I now have chronic pain but I have a question about my legs and if anyone has ever heard or experienced the same thing. Both of my legs from the knees to ankles have excruciating pain if they are even just slightly touched. I have had ultrasounds done on them and it is not blood clots or deep vein thrombosis. I always thought it was from my back but my doc doesn't have a clue as to what it could be. Just wonder if anyone else has experienced something similar. Thanks for putting up with me! Have a good one!

So aorry to hear you are having trouble. Ususally when the mechcanics of the lumber are corrected, that type of pain you describe doesn't happen. Hurt to the touch? Sounds a bit different. I would definately get in touch with a good neurologist, and get a second opinion OK? Ask the one who did your surgery, but seek an outside doctor, different from his practice. I do hope that some resolution can be found. ginnie

I think I'd see a NEUROSURGEON, and see what's going on. When is the last time you had an MRI? You might need to have another one too. If it's been within the last year, you may be okay, but if it's been more than a year, you need another one.
See what the NEUROSURGEON has to say, and let us know, okay? But do NOT jump into surgery! If ANY mention is made of surgery, make sure you get 2 more opinions from other Neurosurgeons!! Never take one surgeons opinion!!! God bless and please take care! Hugs, Lee
