Hi Caroljean,

You're very welcome here. I want to be sure that I (and others reading this) understand what you're saying, and I don't want to put words in your mouth, so please correct me if/wherever I'm wrong...

Are you saying that you're a victim of spousal abuse resulting in traumatic brain injury that's left you with—among other symptoms—chronic head pain?

If so, I guess my first question is, are you in a safe place, out of danger from your abuser?

I'm very familiar with chronic pain, including head pain (a couple of types of chronic headaches). Toward the beginning, (~10 yrs ago) my headaches put me in the ER twice, with pain so bad it raised my normally mundane blood pressure to over 190/120. I still get occasional "crises"—I came very close to another trip to the ER a couple weeks ago—but I now have some meds for those, and my wife knows how to help me through those times with acupressure & massage.

In my experience and opinion, head pain can be the worst kind of pain because it's where one lives—in our heads—and precludes our functioning in almost every way, unable to think clearly and make decisions. Of course other folks with other kinds of pain may differ on this.

There are a couple of other forums here (besides this one) where I think you will also find help & support.

Headache

Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Concussion Syndrome

There may be others as well; the big list is here.

This is a good place with some good knowledgable folk.

Best wishes,

Doc
