Sounds yummie but like I said, anything taken internally the body will get used to. You do your own at home mini colonic irrigation I described above, works all the time every time.

Crazy

just a word of caution to those contemplating DIY colonics.....please remember that the bowel can be ruptured from too much pressure and that serious infections can occur. It really is best to let a professional perform colonic irrigation as they have metered irrigation systems etc

First of all, the procedure I described is no where NEAR a real colonic irrigation. Not even close.

A colonic irrigation is a serious procedure, done usually in a hospital and performed only by professionals. What I am describing is just basically a cleaning/stimulating the lower bowels. Using regular water pressure from the shower hose, the attachment I screw onto it BARELY has to be entered into your ****. It involves low water pressure, barely any intrusion into the **** and is extremely safe. It's so safe it takes like 10-15 times to really get the impacted stuff. Like, you get into the shower, turn on the water, feel the water filling up the lower portion of your bowels. You then feel the urge to "go", turn everything off and get on the toilet.

A true colonic irrigation is much more......much more intrusive physically and much more involved. I'm recommending something I've done and has really, really helped me on many an occasion. It's super safe, super easy and should NEVER be associated with a colonic irrigation. It's not even in the same ballpark.

Default chronic constipation

I have been on morphine, in all of its forms, and many other meds that cause constipation for 13 years now.I have tried every possible way to fix the problem, all kinds of drugs, treatments, natural products, eaten one liter of Activia with added raspberries and flax for extra fiber every day-which is expensive!-figs,dates,prunes, prune and other juices, enemas, you name it, I have tried it! Sometimes I would go for 10 days with no bb, which is in itself dangerous. One day I was reading a magazine, and there was an advertisement for the drug called Xenical, which I knew was for weight loss, and I was skinny enough, so almost did not read about it.But I did, and as I got to the part where it lists the side effects, I got so excited, because one of them was runny stools!!Wow-runny stools, my dream bb! So I went to see my doctor, begged him to let me try the xenical, told him why I wanted to try it, and he said okay, I can give it a go.And it took about a week getting it into my system, and being sure to eat it with a meal that had some fat in it, otherwise it would not work, but it was a miracle to me! It does cost alot, and insurance in saskatchewan, canada will not even cover part of it for me, due to the fact that it is for weight-loss, but I have been on it for many years, and as long as I eat some fat with it,it works very well. It can cause "leaking", but I find that because you eat too much fat with it, and since I stay home, it does not cause any problems for me in that way. But if I run out of it, then it takes just s couple of days to get constipated all over again. It works so well for me, just wanted to share that with the rest of you having the same problems, not anything I can talk to even my family about, you can only understand if it is happening to you! Now if I could convince the SASKATCHEWAN MINISTER OF HEALTH that I take it for that reason, and get some coverage, I would be set. maybe ask your doctors about trying it, you never know!

Constipation is a physical problem best solved with a physical solution like the lower bowl irrigation I made up. Been using it for over 20 years and hasn't failed me yet. No waiting around for some herbs or whatever to work. This works first time, every time.

I am just chiming in here first to wish everyone a painfree and happy Easter.

Second, I am truely hoping at least one person tries out my man made home.......what I would call a Lower Bowl Irrigater. If you own a seperate shower head with a long hose attached, you are half way there. Now all you have to do is go to Home Depot or Lowes and purchase a 1/2", male adaptor. Hopefully one that will change the end from 1/2" to a smaller 3/8". The one I have is copper, has threads on the outside and simply screws into where your showerhead now screws into the hose. Then you simply turn the water on, use the water as a guide and just get it on up to your **** and wait until you feel your lower bowels fill up with water (it's a crazy feeling). You'll definitely know when to stop, just try to fill up as much as possible.

Like I said, been doing this for 20 years and NEVER had one problem. As it will be your first time, there will be two phases. You first are trying to evacuate the daily bowel movement you can't evacuate naturally. After you have all of that cleared out, then you wanna go after the impacted stuff which takes time due to the fact that this is MUCH, MUCH less invasive then a real colonic irrigation. Like, 10-15, even 20 more times to finally get it loose but it WILL eventually come out. Just have to be persistant. In and out of your shower, on and off your toilet seat. When the impacted stuff finally breaks free you will not be any more amazed in your life.

If I could convert just one person to it's benefits, all these posts would be worth it.

Probitotics. . . . live cultures. . . . from yogurt -- or as we who have lost our colons to ulcerative colitis and still suffer Crohn's know -- from VSL3# (powdered probitotic used to help maintain j-pouches) is one of the healthiest ways to self-treat chronic constipation. Making sure you drink plenty of fluids is another. The use of massive amounts of fiber is very tricky, as some people do not respond to high fiber as well. It is best to add fiber to your diet more gradually.

But the use of a home-made colonic procedure using water pressure from your tap is downright dangerous. I have to state a very strong caution about this type of self-treatment. (Why not use use a set-up with a large hot-water bottle and hose with a clamp?) On top of this you can throw your electrolytes totally out of wack taking too many enemas like that, and you can cause dehydration. It can also cause your body to not be able to function normally on its own without such assistance.

NJPain, you have been fortunate to not have suffered any ill effects, but you must understand that what works for you may not work, and in fact may be terribly dangerous, to someone else.

Here is what the doctors of John's Hopkins feel about the subject: http://www.johnshopkinshealthalerts....ers_520-1.html

Exercise, even just walking, is often prescribed for the slow gut. This is one reason they try to get you up walking shortly after a surgery.
