Get over yourselves, I've talked to David, hes very upset, worried about everyone and whats going on.Shame on you. Instead of critizing why not a bit of support.. they were here for us for years, Thank you Dr. john for this place,I'm sorry and embarrased that small minds have polluted your attempt to give us a "safe" and " friendly" place to go while BT recovers. They are even coming to BT now to advertise this place, how do you feel about that?its against the rules here I see. I'll not forget your generosity Dr john..thank you.nor will i forget the poison that has been spread by silly little people with nothing better to do than make others look bad. I question why?

Ya know fran..Not for nuthin but a little bit of communication from John Lester would be nice.Whats it been now, close to 3 months?..I appreciate what John Lester has done in the past too, but to leave 50,000 members in the dark?..Many people are to the point now where they believe theyve been abandoned and that Braintalk is done..finished..over..not coming back..Can you in all sincerity blame them?

David is upset?..So are alot of other people..So atleast he can have the comfort of knowing that he is not alone

If it weren't for Dr John we'd still be in the dark

Lightbulb

fran,

there are many posts here that contain the url (link) to braintalk. there have been many posts regarding the update messages for those who's browsers were showing old dates.

the link to the braintalk flash chat is on some members siggy line and also been posted many times.

in no way is anyone trying take members away from the chat there or from braintalk when it is up and running. the main focus is for those who need support receive it. from whatever source.

not everyone goes to a chatroom. many visit forums only for support. i am sorry if anyone at braintalk flash chat were offended that an alternative was mentioned, until they have braintalk to post on.

Cool Another perspective...

This has been some very interesting reading to say the least! Personally speaking, I think it can be healthy to express our feelings outwardly, rather than bottling them up inside. I'm thankful for Dr. John's thoughtfulness to those who have benefitted from having the chance to find other's here who have made a difference in their lives on BT1.

My experience on BT1 was extremely helpful, and made a huge difference in how I dealt with the sudden onset of several conditions after a serious MVA. I will give John Lester credit for creating a positive environment, which I could access from home, that made it possible to continue human contact after finding myself bed ridden during a very difficult part of my healing process.

There were some significant changes during the last year of BT1 being online, prior to losing the server. These changes started to eat away at the core of what had become a very popular website to those needing support due to many different neurological disorders. I'm sure most of you reading this post know what changes I'm talking about! It became less desirable to come and bare our souls for fear of having that privilege taken away. In some cases, this happened due to members expressing their concern on the whereabouts of another member who had been banned. The mere mention of the banned member, or even using the word "ban" was reason enough to be banned, some were told. The banning of members got out of control, and in some cases there was no communication as to why those decisions were made. In fact, if a member inquired about the reasons behind these actions, they were banned for life! That was going a bit too far, and instilled alot of fear about just how to express ourselves.

Without saying much more, most of you here know exactly what I'm referring to, who I'm referring to, and the manner in which several members were treated. The end result was very negative, and not what I would consider a healthy forum of support, kindness, and consideration.

My personal opinion is that alot of the bad feelings being referred to on this thread stem from how the members were being treated AFTER John Lester became less involved!! This is only the tip of the iceburg with regard to the new "management" of BT1, and how it began to affect so many of it's members....long term, and newly joined members alike. This is my 2 cents. That plus $1.00 might buy you a cuppa coffee....for what it is worth!

Thanks for listening/reading~

Given the choice, I'd probably participate in both forums once/if BT comes back up - a lot of people I know there haven't found this place, or don't wish to participate.

That said - I am as upset about the lack of updates as everyone else...but there's no point in beating a dead horse.
