I'm having a hard time navigating the site...can't figure out how to subscribe to forums on specific topics.

there is a "sticky" on New Member's forum to help with navigation around the community
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread18185.html

you subscribe to forums/threads from your user CP, top left of the page or from the "Forum Tools" or "Thread Tools" drop down toward the center top of the page

You are definitely correct, it is difficult and hard to navigate and confusing in this site, though I must say that the people and information is very helpful, maybe they will see this and make the site user friendly!
