Bravo to Thelma for saying something that many of us have probably encountered on "other" forums (wink, wink), unfortunately. I don't think it could've been said any better. On another forum I saw alot of abuse by mods who didn't step in when they should've and overstepped their boundaries when they shouldn't have- and I use the term "they" very loosely because the only problems I saw had to do with only one mod. I witnessed blatant abuse by this mod- I remember numerous smart-alek and taunting posts by this mod, as if the "power" they assumed they had (and evidently did have since nothing was ever done about it) gave them the right to be so hateful to many of the members. I think some people just can't handle having any kind of power- it goes to their head. And it always makes me wonder if maybe that small bit of power, that makes them feel so important, is the only power they have in their lives so they're going to make good use of it. I remember reporting a problem that I had on there one time only to be told by this mod basically, "too blankety blank bad- if you don't like that's your problem. I don't see any reason to do anything about it." What kind of mature behavior is that for somebody in charge of something like that?! It was like a dictatorship there. And nothing has changed there- absolutely nothing....I don't post at that forum anymore and seldom even read it but do check back occasionally to see if anybody is posting on my regular forum and they're not. I'm so glad that things are different here and we've been given this place to come to and post and discuss things with adults who act like adults and who agree to disagree occasionally with no fear of the gestapo, unless you really get out of line. Doc John is totally different in his approach to running NT and the mods and admin. treat people more respectfully. This is the way a forum should be- people discussing their situations, offering support and help, able to disagree without being immediately banned, and being treated like intelligent human beings instead of being treated like a bunch of serfs and oafs under the command of the "lord of the manor"......
