Default privacy question from newbie

Before I start posting I want to know if this is private. I belonged to another support group and I googled my name on the internet just to see what I could bring up... OMG it had my question posted for all to see and now I cannot remove it. It is so embarrassing.......

This is not private......anything you post can be viewed by anyone who logs into the site. That's why it's not a good idea to use your real name when posting or to give out personal information.

Hi
yes, as Kity has explained, these are all forums that can be publicly read, even by "guests" not logged in, although only members can post. The forums are also open to search engine bots. Most forums are open like this as it not only puts helpful info onto the 'Net but also brings in new members who see the topics when they "google" them and so find the support groups here.

It is all fine as long as one doesn't divulge personal info that is best not publicly broadcast and post anonymously.
