Default How do I get multiple quotes?

Well, I finally figured out how to quote someone in my post, using the quote button. Don't laugh, it really has taken me this long! I kept looking for some kind of quote button after hitting the reply button, and of course, there isn't any. I finally figured out you have to hit the quote button first.
Ok, so far, so good. But how do I get multiple quotes? I tried getting the first quote I wanted, typing a bit, then going back and getting another quote, but when that second quote came up, it erased everything I had already typed, plus my first quote. I know it is possible, because I've seen posts with multiple quotes in them. I just don't have any idea how to do it.
Hugs,
