I could be one of those 'fruits' of labor if you need help. Done many newsletters in my lifetime.

It will be interesting how y'all put it together if we have one.

Anyway, keep me in mind if you need the help.

Default It's a good idea . . .

but who is going to manage the logistics of the thing! Although the idea is to publish it quarterly, those "behind the scenes" will most likely be working on the project continuously, depending on ones assignment. (I apologize if this has been explained already.) Can a message be sent to all the forums asking for volunteers? Then who will organize them, hand out writing assignments, manage the timeline, etc.

I'm all for the idea but it's a pretty big undertaking!!!

Best wishes,
Nancy

Hi Nancy
I have quoted what I said in the first post of this thread just to answer your question as to who would co-ordinate this.

Ellie would be in charge of layout and so be kinda Editor -In -Chief Members volunteering like Doody (thanks Doody ) would be working with Ellie on the editorial end of things
while Curious would be acting as liason for members who are submitting stories or doing a column, featured article, etc.

I will be available to help in whatever capacity needed, and will work with Ellie & Curious and the Newsletter team re the final layout, content and edits and then it goes to Doc for publishing

Hope that answers the question re who would be co-ordinating it.

Once we have had this discussion thread running a bit, I will be asking Doc to put up a poll, and also an announcement on all of the forums.

This would essentially be a member newsletter, and so I am checking to see if there is any interest from members in being involved in this.

If we do this, Ellie and Curious would be co-ordinating things, with Ellie doing layouts and all the editorial stuff and Curious receiving whatever stories, ideas, reports etc that members would like to contribute, and also doing our healthy nutrition section.

We could have member contributions, whether a "my story" or interesting news/research reports on various conditions, along with other stuff to compliment our non-medical forums too...eg creativity, pets, and anything else that would be informative or fun or challenging, inspiring etc

we could also have special "Focus on...."...name whatever condition or issue, again, based on member contributions......

Also....its another way to introduce members from different forums to each other.....especially those who tend not to venture from their "home" forum

As this is just a suggestion at this time, we need to see what kind of enthusiasm there is for it, as well as whether any members would like to volunteer to be part of the Newsletter team

Anyway, this is an intial feeler to see what kind of interest there is in a newsletter soooo.....please post feedback here or PM me
thanks
Cheri

okydoky

this will be my last bump of this for a while.
We will eventually have a poll and an announcement

so far it seems that the majority of those who have replied here are supportive of the idea, tho very few have volunteered to be directly involved in it

soooooooooooo

topic is still open for discussion and volunteers for the Newsletter team can either post here or PM me

thanks
