Default Doc John - your topic, BT2 and BT1

That's great to know that BT2 will remain. But did you ever decide on a new name for this, or will it remain Brain Talk 2 Communities? Just curious because I'm not worried about that. I'm sure if you named it something else it would be a good choice. Thanks.

I was wondering about that myself...

In my wondering ( scary, I know ), I thought about the many others who still might be looking for BT in some form. In that case, should we keep this name for a few more months knowing that we will change it in the near future?

You know you really are pushing John Lester to the wall with this. Wonder what he will think of what has already been done to that which he worked so hard and so long for.

I know I am still peeved at him but enough already.

Thelma,

That's a good point in the discussion.

Thank you!

Now that wasn't nice. I just had my post ready to go when something knocked me slap out of the room, actually slap off the site!!

Now Thelma dear, I won't go back where I was but somebody needs too. Now I loved John Lester, I cut my teeth on JL's ;;;;;;;;;;;dawg leash.

I find it hard to speak his name saying he was getting the site back up cause it had been down almost a month?? I was a bit mad at him already, but that just took the cake! I am not just POed now I am friggin angry as you know what!! I've paid my dues, but what does that get us? No, he doesn't owe us anything. Thats good. We are even now.

I was reading here and yonder this morning. It noted that John's sites's, all of them were just purring along, all except BrainTalk. I didn't know this person or group of persons or whatever. It doesn't matter to me Dr.J. We could name him Jon Jr. I have a son named Jonathan, most times I call him Jon. that way we wouldn't be accussed of "steeling anything"" I give you my permission to use my Jon's name

The server has been down more than up and when it is up its so slow you could run to the gro, store and back before your post posted!

I apologize Thelma. I didn't mean any harm. I was just curious. And I like it here.

I like your idea of waiting kimmydawn.

Yes, I will gladly change the name when/if BT1 returns. I don't see that as a given at this point, though.

Default BT1 has been down

for over 2 months. It crashed in July. That was only 14 months after he rebuilt the site with new and improved equipment and software to prevent a bad crash again. That was when a major donation push went on to be able to procure the equipment and software. For months prior to the crash, the site was so slow.

BT1 was a wealth of info and had a lot of members. These people were left out of support and with no info, had no place to turn. It seems interesting that emails went out this week to say BT1 was coming back. If that info is in the database, how did the emails get sent?

DocJohn--do you know something we dont? Really, OBT has helped many. It has also changed a lot over the years but one thing was for certain--it crashed and went off line on a regular basis.

Forums are made up of people and this one or any other will be what "we" make it for the most part.
JL has not vanished--he can be seen on-line at his other sites. Why he doesnt communicate is anyones guess--he never was very good at keeping us updated when the thing went down.

For myself --the frequent crashes caused me to back off and enter lurkdom as I found it was making me far to irritated for my own good.
BUT--I still felt--"ah BT will be there to help when i really need it" and last week was one of those times.

I went searching and found it still wasnt back but I found this one and was very happy I did cause the people who are most likely to help me for my current crisis are here!

So--I have nothing agasint JL but understand those that are upset. I am not so sure OBT is coming back at all. I disagree that JL doesnt owe the people something.
I think he owes common courtesy and respect by way of a 3 sentence notification regarding whats up or not.

As alwats this is nothing more than my opinion which isnt worth a hill of beans anyway lol
