Angry key word link to ads?????

I have been off line for a few days, on this computer it seems that there are now high lighted words that are linked to ads. Is this true for all of the forums or just the bipolar ones?

This may be an ISP (who supplies your internet service) or browser (do you open up with Safari or Firefox or Chrome, etc) issue. I browsed several forums, including the one you listed, and saw no hot-linked words.

You could also check your system preferences to see if there is some kind of setting causing this. But not being computer-savvy, that is about as far as I could go . . . sorry.

Sounds like some type of adware, bizi.

I recall having something like that happen a long time ago.
Words were underlined.

I know there is some adware called SafeWeb that sounds similar to what you described.

Run your Spyware and Anti-virus programme.

This is a malware hijack program you picked
up on the internet.

We just had this on our new computer and it
came in on a download of something.

We removed it with Malwarebytes which is free
Anti malware software.

I'm thinking bizi was perhaps using a computer that was owned by someone else as I know she's away or has been from home.

Hopefully they get it sorted out.

You can pick one of these hijacks up today, in an instant!

We were loading PDF reader, and our hijack came in on that download. The computer was 2 days old!

Malwarebytes took care of it quickly and easily. It is free online.
Be careful downloading from sites however, because some have fake download buttons! This fools people and that is where many of the viruses, trojans, and malware are hidden.

We became so paranoid when this happened a couple of months ago, that we decided to get the pay for version upgrade. This after using the free one for many years. We ran a scan over night last night and it found 2 nasty objects! Usually we don't have any hits with the weekly scan we do. So I removed those this morning.

One should really run Malwarebytes once a week... there is so much junk out there now to infect you!

While Mozilla FireFox is less prone to these hijacks, Internet Explorer is very susceptible. So switching to FF may help also.
Regular antivirus programs often miss this type of malware, so you really need both types on your machine. And run them at least once a week too!

Hi Bizi
as others have explained, this must be something you have picked up on your computer as NeuroTalk does not run any ads

Red face

thank you all for getting back to me and I apologize for being tardy in responding.
The computer I was using is my mother in laws and it is old.
WE use it twice a year for bare minimal internet usage. I check face book and neurotalk and goggle.
I am glad to hear that we don't advertise here.
thanks again
