amazing...the differences
I have a narrow screen, with a white background, and lavender gray
side panels. The white background is much easier for me to read. The other colors (if you can call them that) are a warm gray moving towards lavender. There is a cooler lt. blue on the area just around the reply window. These colors BTW are very similar to the new Yahoo Beta email, that I recently converted to. I am an artist and am perhaps more sensitive to these colors. I wonder how some of you get the wide screen effect? Is it my newest Mozilla download? Which we just did to enable the Yahoo Beta? I haven't used IE for so long, it is sadly out of date. Is it the monitors? You know various monitors age, and then certain colors, no longer show up on them. This is why I changed my signature to lavender..it looks really nice to me. duh? I have a high definition flat screen, for my graphic work. So perhaps I see things that others don't ? (no comments please:p ) |
I like having color choices but chestnut is not one I would use - I can't see it too well.

Kimmydawn,
I too have a problem reading the post with the chestnut..it widens the posts as well on my computer..but as long as we have a choice to me it doesn't matter what the default is set on..Lisa |
according to my son....
I called my son, the computer techie...
And he had me change my pixel resolution to 800x 600 and yep...the size changes, and there is a scroll bar and problems. What I am at now is 1280x 1024 and it is smaller and narrow. Go to Control Panel Appearance/themes and change the resolution to 1280x 1024 and it might be nicer for you. You can also right click on desk top and pick properties, hit settings, and change there the same way. Lower resolution will change the width. Give this a try before you give up on Chestnut.;) |

When you do this, all the icons and fonts appear smaller and the scroll bar narrower (and I keep on "falling off" and opening up webpages where I don't want to go! ). But you can correct this situation relatively easily. Like MsD said above, Go to Control Panel Appearance/themes and change the resolution to 1280x 1024 and it might be nicer for you. OR You can also right click on desk top and pick properties, hit settings, and change there the same way. Keep clicking and right-clicking to see what is there, then go to town. If you are worried that you will change something and not like the result, then quickly jot down what the first value is... then try it out ("Apply", then check it out). Also, I just remembered something else, that at OBT, after the initial move, JL took a bit of time adjusting the font to a larger easier to read one. That can be done, and will take away the reading difficulty some are having. Happiness, all! ;) |
I have a Dell laptop with XP and I use IE. I'm not having the problems with resolution, that some of you are having.
You would be suprised what adjustment you can make to make your browsing more to your liking. Change your resolution. Ignore Internet Font and Colors, and pick your own. Increase the Test Size. Make your view brighter or duller. I'm learning as I go along. Go to The computer forum and ask Zombieslayer or JoJo or some of the other PC Gurus. They usually have the answer. |
Thanks for the suggestion(s)...
We'll be adding additional themes as well. Stay tuned! :) |
Oh, goody!!! More colors! :D
|
More colors is great!!!
I hope that we can figure out why changing to the chestnut for some is causing an issue with the page going off the screen so that we won't have the issue with the new ones. I might find one I just HAVE to have and get obsessed with making it work. ;) I've done that before and stayed up all night...LOL. I don't think it's the settings in my computer because I've never had that happen before. It's only happening with the chestnut. Now, even though it might not be IN my computer, I would still be satisfied to adjust it within my computer if I learn how. :) KD |
