I've checked my "Options" and it shows that I'm getting instant email notification but I don't actually get any notification.
Any clue what's going on?

you need to subscribe to threads or forums to get the email notifications for those.
if you want private message or visitor message/ friend request notifications you need to check those options in your user CP those are the only email notifications I am aware of

Try going in to change you email. Even if it says the one you are using, put it in again. Then click Save Changes. Most email, hotmail, yahoo, aol, msn, have spam settings. Email from NT may be blocked and not even going to a folder. There should be place to put addys that you allow.

if you go to - tools, then options, then privacy tab check your settings on those areas. there is a show log button on that section too so you might click it and see what you find there. [Cutting Out the Junk Thunderbird's popular junk mail tools have been updated to stay ahead of spam. Each email you receive passes through Thunderbird's leading-edge junk mail filters. Each time you mark messages as spam, Thunderbird “learns” and improves its filtering so you can spend more time reading the mail that matters. Hi Curious, yes, I tried that thing of changing and saving, then changing back and saving.
Thunderbird is great, I really don't see a spam folder, though. When I mark things as spam they go into my trash folder. The thing is, I was going to go into MSN yesterday to see if there's a spam folder there, and I couldn't get in because it thinks I have dialup and it couldn't find a dial up connection. I had dial up briefly when I was trying to save money last fall. So, it could be that the notifications are in MSN's junk folder... I wrote their techs yesterday and one very kindly responded with the directions to change the settings... I was about to do it when I remembered that MSN is soooooooooo slow that it drives me crazy. Each time it starts it takes several minutes, whereas Thunderbird is pretty much instant. My computer shuts off a lot due to overrheating (even though I have a special fan for it) so going back to MSN being active would be a double edged sword... Thank you so much, everyone, for your help. I think you've helped me identify the problem. I think when this legal stuff isn't so overpowering that I can go to MSN again, but right now... not so much. Thanks you!!!!!!!
