...and possibly get our archive back, you might want to visit
http://www.wired.com/support/feedback.html and suggest to the editor that it might be worth having one of their writers drop in here. I just did and a few more might make them take a look. ![]()

Well now you have hit a nerve that is going to have to be a group decision. My first kneejerk reaction is you just stepped on a collective big toe. A proposal would be necessary - can't just give them free reign to be aliases. Oh stuffing gag in mouth.
Doc j would be needed... may not want to...but I don't want to hurt John Lester..we would need much more information. Lots of trust you are calling for there. I'm tired just thinking about it. paula |

...as paula pointed out, is indeed needed.
Unforunately, JL has it all and isn't shareing. As for the collective big toe, an individual has the right to seek justice so long as he does not purport to be acting in an official capacity. "Go not gently into that good night...."

I went to the link and there was a mail form... but I had no idea what Wired.com is or does... So I came here to ask you. What would you think they would do? Then I wanted to mention that yesterday I put a question in the General Forum hoping to get some information I had originally been given on BT, but then my computer broke and I didn't have the saved file anymore. Well, a very helpful person googled it with + braintalk and got the cached page... So if that was true, and it was, then everyone could get the pages of information they want from their special forums in the same way.... Think?

The biggest obstacle to block anyone from getting a copy of the database is the personal (registration email and password) and private (pms) information stored in the database that shouldn't be shared.
Not that I have anything in that database that I wouldn't share with everyone (except perhaps my password ![]() I will however do what I can to get the threads and posts made available should BrainTalk never come back, even if I have to goto Boston to get it. There is extremely valuable information in those posts. The information can be seperate (private and posts) but can be a bit tricky to do. It all depends on 2 main factors; #1 the condition of database (ie is it corrupted), and #2 the size of certain tables within the database. |

I used to be able to send many people links to posts there that were literal lifesavers for them, as well as essential info in helping them or their kids with their illness..........it is really serious not to be able to access that info! |

I am trying to understand the whole picture. John is not responding to anyone right? Are you saying that he is ignoring repeated requests for archived information? We do not know the severity of the crash for sure and don't feel comfortable with his explanation and are definitely surprised and angered at his lack of communication. Some of you are questioning where donations went.
Reverett wants to publicize this in an effort to get the material. Correct me if I'm wrong please. Asking a couple of questions: Just how hard has anyone tried to get any information? What other means of communicatiing with John can we try? Reverett: what do you mean when you say put a writer on it? What would be the purpose? thanks, paula ps dorry keep crackin those jokes - i love humor - it's the only way to go thru life. |

Check out the gluten forum, jcc has made a dynamite site with the information. But I don't know if she got it all somehow by means of cached pages, or if she had a duplicate of everything on her computer.
But check out her work, it is sooooo beautiful. ![]()
