I found some things about what the MS connection manage is-

I googled this too- "using AOL & a second ISP dialer "

but if the free isp works for you then you wouldn't even need the AOL anymore anyway.
if it doesn't you could delete/uninstall the free one and reinstall the AOL???
but other than that I don't know much more about it and I wouldn't want you to do something that might kill your PC - so it's up to you..
