Jo*Mar, I am hoping you have some insight to offer on my morning mess.
Here is my setup: TV/Monitor - Westinghouse LTV27w7HD IOGEAR 4 Port KVM Desktop Laptop Logitech Wireless Keyboard/Mouse Combo I use the TV as both TV and PC Monitor, connected through VGA port. Both Laptop and Desktop run through KVM. This morning the monitor was completely black - both desktop and laptop. When I switched to TV, the TV worked fine. When I switched back to PC, the monitor temporarily displayed the VGA resolution, but display remained black. I switched the VGA cable. Again displayed resolution, but monitor still black. Connected VGA directly to desktop. Displayed resolution, but monitor still black. So, it appears it is recognizing the VGA connection, but won't pull up the video display. Finally, I switched with another TV/Monitor that is same make and model. And it worked. I'm thinking it may be the VGA port, but am stumped as to why it will recognize the VGA connection, but display no video. Any thoughts?

My Sony Bravia does this sometimes (why, I have no idea).
It recognises that there is a signal, but the screen states 'out of range' (as with yours, TV programs come through fine) The only solution for me, is to remove the TV's plug out of the wall socket, wait about 30 secs to let it fully discharge, then plug it back in again. (Just turning the TV off and on with the on/off button does not work). ![]() |
