I wouldn't buy on ebay....There have been many articles about ebay as not being a good place to buy camera equipment or computers. Many people get stung there...including my own son who bought a zoom lens which turned out to be broken.
Some outlets online with guarantees may be as reasonable. Even Amazon might. A good resource for evaluating various kinds is Steve's digicam site. http://www.steves-digicams.com/
