Well I used to even own my own computer-maintenane company and this was always a commend problem-dirty/sticky keyboards......basicall, not worth the trouble of cleaning...and you cannot get under the keys (unlesss you have a good high-powered air source like at gas-stations....so the best thing to do is replace the keyboard whenever needed and if you have a lap top, connect an external USB keyboard on your laptop and your in business! I clean my laptop keys often... I use rubbing alcohol on q-tips. It cleans well and evaporates quickly.

If I have particularly sticky areas I pop off the key, clean around it with the alcohol and pop the key back on.

Haven't broken a key or anything else yet... knock on wood.... been doing it this way for many years.

Great idea Abbie....maybe I just have sticky fingers!

of course you can use alcohol....but the problem is cleaning under the keys.....if it's a separate keyboard (not a laptop)...then you can probably unplug from your pcf, clean around top of keys with a soft rag or sponge...soaked in alcohol.......thendump some alcohol under the keys and then use a high-pressure air source to blow-out most of the alcohol from under the keys....the let it sit for 1 day to air out.....then plug in and see if it's okay....but you have go to be realistic....cleaning under the keys is a pain! Buy a new keyboard for 10 bucks if you can....get an extra one to have just in case....okay? Good Luck! Phil Espinoza
