Mine has done it out of blue a few times, maybe 1 or 2 times a year - i just restart & do some general scan & clean up any oddball stuff, and all is fine .
I think sometimes things just get scrambled as your dh says and the reboot gets it back in order. I don't even pay attention to any codes unless it becomes a frequent problem.
