There is a sleep message on our computer too.
I never put in a password, but it asks anyway... I just click enter and the screen goes away. Try that if you have no password entered at all.

Mel, I'm hoping 64 isn't as old as you say it is LOL
My mom is still a bundle of energy @ 76 and she only has 1 semi good eye. She is just now starting to slow down a little bit - but does canning, sewing keeps tabs on elderly friends. She'd be on the computer if her eye had better vision - low vision in the good eye.
