Default beware norton update?

Sorry to have posted so many times, my first reaction to any computer problem is to run around shrieking 'The Sky Is Falling!!...'I even annoy myself.

My sis and niece are vacationing in California, I called this am. Niece said she had just updated her Norton and it messed up her computer, she finally got it to reboot and then got window saying she needed to uninstall and reinstall. I don't know if that happened to me but I did just update. I still have nearly a year left on it but am going to take your advice and get rid of it.

Sis helped me restore to several days ago so have everything back..magic...
Guess I'll call IP this week when I have another phone and see what they say when they can access my computer. I don't trust them very much, sis said she had an IP at one time that she thought gave her virus' and then charged her to remove them? Do they do that? what a world..
thanks, Zygo
