Okay, where to begin. This started the other day. I uploaded videos from my Flip camera to my Flip software. When I played them back, the audio sounded like it was underwater. I then went on youtube. MANY various videos. Sounded like underwater. So I did a system restore and everything went back to normal.
I also tested my speakers in the control panel. PERFECT. Left and right audio. I use headphones by the way. So for yesterday and last night, everything was perfect until Alan said to me 'Why can't I hear this game I'm playing (he was playing some poker thing on the internet when the sound cut out). I immediately went to my youtube account, clicked on some of my videos and said 'There is nothing wrong with our sound card, listen". Everything was fine. I then got a chance to go on the internet and I wanted to watch some video clips on youtube (not mine, other people). Well, imagine my surprised when (no more underwater sounding sounds) but the audio was so LOW on some videos I said "who can watch these videos?" I then checked my own videos on youtube and they played just fine. See why I'm confused. So just now I began playing various videos on youtube. Some had very low sound (like the one I'm going to show you), and others played loud and clear. Take a look at this one for example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Pker6csSAg It opens up with loud music and then the audio goes low. Oh, you have to skip the advertisement first (which is so low I can't hear it). And my volume is turned way up. The music then begins to play loud but then when they are speaking, forget it. Is this my imagination or does the same thing happen when any of you click on this video. I would just like to know why SOME videos play perfectly (audio wise I mean) and others, well I can't hear. Any input is appreciated. I don't think it's my sound card because I did the test in the sound part of my control panel and heard things perfectly. Thanks much Melody

And here's a perfect example of a full movie on youtube which has no sound (at least I don't hear one word).
Do you get sound when you play this movie? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTxr_...eature=related I'm just using this movie as an example by the way Thanks, Melody

Yes, I have sound. I checked the little speaker icon below the
frame and mine was turned up to max automatically. Check that speaker thingey, sometimes they default to very low for some reason.

Now why on earth do you get sound and I don't. Might be a codec thing. I have all the flashplayers installed, etc. Adobe is on, everything is on. You get sound, I don't get sound on that movie. But other stuff I get sound just fine. mm mm mm Something to look into. I'm going to get my friend Allengamer to get a look at this. Melody P.S Thanks to you all

Maybe your browser needs to be updated??
Is is firefox? 13.01 is the latest update click Help and then About Firefox to check that. Also Tools & Add ons - check those for updates... Or you can re down load FF from Mozilla and re install it - right over the top of FF you have already, it will keep all your same info & settings. Oh, does the sound work with IE or Chrome browsers??? If it works fine then it would be a setting/add ons or something with the browser you are using and not with the computer. But if it is a problem on all browsers, then it is something with your computer or windows.

Well, what I want to know is how come I can hear all the videos that are in my youtube account perfectly fine. But when I click on a movie or something, I can hear the music playing fine but when someone talks in the movie, I hear it so low I can't view the video. but if it's music playing, then I hear the music just fine. And the info I got on google indicated that you don't need codecs to watch youtube because it uses Flash. And I have Flash. What the heck do I do now (someone help me before I hit this computer) Melody

I then went to see if my youtube videos (sound I mean) played fine. They did. I then went to see if the other stuff on youtube (old movies I mean, like the link I gave you) did it play for me? No, no audio. Now here is where it gets REALLY interesting. I like to watch the old episodes of What's my Line PLAYS LOUD AND CLEAR Take a look Clear as a bell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tckhf...eature=related So how come I can watch my youtube videos, I can watch old sitcom videos but I can't get any audio on the movies and certain youtube stuff. This will drive me bonkers. I promise no more venting from me. Maybe Alangamer will see this and have pity on me. lol Melody

Did that. NOTHING CHANGED. He then suggested I uninstall Adobe Flash Player. Couldn't do it from Google Chrome so I went to add/remove programs and uninstalled all Adobe stuff. I then found out that Google Chrome comes with a built in Flash player and sure enough all the videos that I previously could see, well I still could see them. Then I went into Alan's Firefox browser and INSTALLED Adobe from there. I read that when I want to view a video that Google chrome will know what Flash player to use. (Don't ask me, I don't get this either). So I installed a brand new Adobe Flasher player and all plug ins. Guess What? Nothing changed. So I've tried EVERYTHING that tech people have suggested. I have really no idea what to do. Any suggestions are most helpful Melody

Try viewing withOUT Chrome. Seems we had some Google Chrome problems here before? There are glitches with Chrome.
Use Firefox or Explorer and see if they work.
