Just wanted to share with you what I just bought. I had been viewing videos (either from youtube) or from imdbfree.com and watching movies. The speaker on the Kindle Fire is just fine. But what does one do when watching a youtube video and the sound is LOW??
This does happen at times. And when I'm on my friend's porch and she's a bit deaf and needs a bit of more volume?? Well, I found this little gem for $10 at Walgreens. Here you go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W8EWnytBQc Melody. And I have a question of my own. Now that I have my tablets getting a wi fi signal from my new modem/router, I am thinking: "What if I ever get my hands on a laptop. (and I would have to use a mouse, because I just like them better than using touch screens on laptops. i have used my friend's and I can't stand using the touchscreen. It's just a personal preference. My modem/router has 3 extra ethernet outputs. I have no idea why it does and what I would plug into them (3 extra computers)?? What on earth for? I'm thinking that if I could EVER get my hands on a second hand laptop and of course it would be wi fi ready right? Do I have to anything specific to get wi fi from my new modem/router? Or do I just turn on the laptop, it wi fi software will immediately look for the closest signal, which would be my own Wi Fi network, and BAM, I could go on the internet the same way I do with my tablets? Is there a limit to how many wi fi devices in one's homes that one can use? See i am still learning this wi fi stuff and if I could ever get my hands on a laptop, I might be able to do Ebay once again. I can never get near my PC because Alan is always on there. (don't ask, he doesn't listen to me anymore), lol He says it gets his mind off his PN. So to put it simply, if I ever get a laptop I just turn it on, and I'll get wi fi on that too?? And do I have to do anything to sync it up with the modem/router???? Thanks much

If your router is emitting a wireless signal then any wifi enabled device (laptops) will see the signal and you connect the exact same as the Kindle does. No limit...but its like a bottle neck, the more people sharing the signal the slower it will get.. So, no, you wont have to do anything special at all. Turn the laptop on, choose a wireless network, connect to it and BAM!! |

Wired allows you to connect any device directly to your router using the CAT5 (ethernet cable) ports like a desktop computer, laptop, printer, gaming device, etc.... Wireless is just that, you can connect any device that is wifi enabled to your router using NO cables... For instance, if you have a old computer (desktop type or laptop) that still works that is near your new router, you can plug it directly into the router with a cable to give it the Internet... So, 4 wired connections, unlimited wireless.... Party @ Melodys!!! |

So lets see if I got this right. Someone who doesn't need their desktop and monitor can give them to me andug into extra ethernet port and I have wired Internet access or I get laptop and either connect via extra ethernet port or wi ti?? Right? Oh would connecting any device to extra ethernet port affect broadband speed? Or is the speed only affected by wifi devices? Thanks so much.

2) Think of it like this on the speed thing. If you have ONE Internet connection and ONE computer you get 100%. 2 computers down to 50%, 3 computers down to 33%, etc, etc... BUT, if you are just using the Internet and NOT downloading or emailing HUGE files you prob wont even notice as you wont be using all the bandwidth thats allocated to you. |
