My sister installed a newer windows for me a couple of years ago, is that what you mean by fresh OS? I had AVG for awhile and computer ran worse, I read it can do that?

I might take it in at some point but am kind of thinking about just saving my pennies for a new one. I have to move again this summer ( church across the street emits smoke from oil furnace, not good on my poor lungs) so will see what transpires. I don't know if its dying, Facebook pages load funny, central picture will come and rest of screen remains black for a few more seconds, I don't know if that means anything or not. Also get scarey hard drive noises on occasion.

I may just go on like this for awhile and continue to frustrate you more knowledgeable people. Its doing ok right now. Just so you know, I drove a Ford Pinto for 15 years.....

LOL we still have a ford pinto sitting out back & I drive a 1984 Volvo. ( turbo of course- bought it in 1999.)

I had my Pinto in Ellensburg when I was going to Central during a very cold winter. It was one of only 3-4 cars running early in the morning when the temps were 15 below zero.

Well I am dumb. I think this is what I had and I clicked on it and got the malware but Norton killed it. I am getting another pop up saying something a little different but don't click and there doesn't seem to be a problem.

We installed our new computer last weekend. Hubby downloaded Adobe reader and VLC video player for it. And along came
QuickSeeker malware. Luckily we had Malwarebytes already on it and that took care of it. But it was shocking to have a 2 day old computer ferry in a common malware! I logged in here minutes after he added those two programs, and there were blue hyperlinks all over NeuroTalk! ACKKKKKK!

So hubby decided to get the Premium version...which we now have installed on our two older laptops and this new machine!

It can happen to anyone, anytime I guess!
