I have an idea as to what is going on but since Mr. Lester hasn't replied it's just an idea.
I think he has everything installed and is just testing things out, and/or troubleshooting the little bugs that probably came up. I know that whenever I add something new to my forums I do extensive with my forums still live (online). But with a forum as big as BrainTalk, I'd keep it all offline until it's ready. |

Uh-huh, I would do that too. But I'd have a front page (leading nowhere) to explain it, I wouldn't dream of leaving the software default as my home page, or a blank. I'd put up a site-specific personalized "placeholder" message.
I also design websites occasionally; we'd never test an operational site without a placeholder, clients would want their money back - it's as good as saying you've gone out of business, in the professional world. Well, it sounds as though you agree with my basic points (? perhaps). I'm not really bothered as to the reasons for the server default message, I was just wondering if my basic assumptions were right. If they are, it just means I will *never* get my head around JL's reasoning over the past 3 months. That's fine, I can stop wondering ![]() Thank you for your time, Mr. Slayer ![]() Last edited by artist; 09-29-2006 at 02:53 AM. Reason: nit-picking... |
