Wow!

It could get very expensive for the manufacturer.
I hope lessons are well-learned and not quickly forgotten.
I cannot imagine leaving this vulnerability wide open, even if not penalized for having done so. We'll see how the "buyback offer" pans out for the manufacturer. I am glad this has been exposed and a "remedy" is being offered to each vehicle owner.
