I had this exact problem!!! My daughter ( 24 and very hi-tech in many ways) installed a VLC media player (free on Internet and not difficult to install) and everything plays great now.

I went to the official site of VLC media player and downloaded and installed it. I refreshed my General Hospital Video that I was watching, thinking it would make a difference. No difference whatsoever.

Am I supposed to re-start my computer?

How do I make this VLC media player to be set as my default player. I'm computer literate but not about these things.

Yep, a restart is always worth a try.

OKay, I'll look into that. But I have just now tried to watch GH and the same thing is happening.

Well, I followed instructions. Didn't restart, I always just put it to sleep. Tonight when I finish using it I'll shut it down and tomorrow morning I'll turn it back on. If this does not work, I give up. lol
