We asked our son about this originally posted problem with Thunderbird... and this is what he said:
"The problem appears to come up when you use a Microsoft online account as your login account. There are two options: doing that, and logging in locally only. I'm going to guess you guys (my hubby and I) set it up locally only, since you don't have any Microsoft online accounts. You can see how to check and set it to a local account here:" http://www.howtogeek.com/230543/how-...re-hijacks-it/ This seems to me that you can CHANGE your account to local, and then therefore you can use your computer when IP is not connected. This thread has really been a big learning experience for ME that is for sure!
