Did you finalize the burn?
Is the DVD a format that your player recognizes? Many DVD players only recognize the minus (DVD-R) format. If it's a + or an RW, your player may reject it. Are you sure that you burned in NTSC? Is your burner capable of burning playable DVDs or just Data DVDs?

Jo,
older DVD player models will probably on play DVD-R but if your DVD player is pretty new, it might play the DVD+ discs and probably even the RW discs. Check the manual. now, this is where it gets tricky. Some of the newer DVD players can read computer files such as Jpeg and mpeg. if your dvd player can read those, you simply burn your photos to your DVD as "DATA" CD but to make it more fun, then it is about recoding those photos as a video file with the most common being MPEG 2 files. The native language form for stadarnd dvd are .vob files you can tell by sticking in a regular movie, and go through explore and opening it up. it'll show you the native files of that DVD (movie) but because newer players can play MPEG 2 files (some even up to mpeg 10 with divX) but to be safe, and because I've used nero for so long, I am going to post the nero applications. in Nero: select the DVD menu from the drag down select :Make your own DVD another window will pop up. on the menu selection on the right, select make slide show: now, you can browse through your files and select the photos that you want. Then select the pause inbetween each photo (like if you want to watch that photo for about 5secs or 30 seconds) you can click and drag those photos and place them in the orders of your liking, you can add music to them (but let's keep it simple for now). once you are done, click on "next" and it'll bring you back to the original menu click on "next" again. It then should/will show you the native DVD menu (just like when you pop in a regular dvd and it takes you to a root menu to let you select whether you want to watch the movie or the extras) and you can play with that. just keep following it out until you see burn. if you use a foreign camera, more than likely, nero will as you, your file is more pal than ntsc, blah blah blah. Just stick to ntsc. and select burn. That should work My brothers use Pinnacle and Roxio but they are deep into the field. And are more knowledgeable....I can ask them. I just play around with ours. When my father died, we make his photo dvd to be played in the funeral home.... good luck |

well got the Nero8 trial installed- but I can't seem to wrap my brain around it ... too many different options LOL
![]() I'm lost with that program.... ![]() I did find a fairly easy program that made a DVD that played on the TVs DVD player. Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder - it is a trial program so it puts a logo /watermark in the center of the screen when you play the DVD & PhotoStage Slideshow Producer ![]() It's a nicer program as far as setting up the pictures and editing but I think I need to retry the burning & settings , cause it didn't play on the TVs DVD player & another one I did today VSO Photo DVD - best one so far- easy to use, trial pgm - does place a small logo/water mark at the top of the screen but not very noticeable at all but still testing to find better ones...
