Question Here is another:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949377/

You know, Spybot has be pinging us to accept changes in the registry lately (newest version).

I have denied them, not knowing what it was all about.
But I did accept the last one, as it followed the SP3 download on the laptop. (I haven't seen it yet on this desktop).

Does accepting that prompt mean anything serious in regards to updates?

I'm not sure MrsD.; been awake all night with a sucky cold and my brain is foggy.

If you mean whether the prompt to update your Spybot is anything to worry about related to future Spybot updates or in relation to Windows Updates, I'm unclear.

Either way, I'm not very familiar with Spybot, SpyDoctor and other such programs.

On my software, though, when I receive notices that updates are available, I generally delay for a bit - to feel more assured that (possible lingering) glitches will have been ironed out by the time I download and install.

Others who use Spybot or comparable are probably better suited to answer your question.

Too, Spybot's website might present the answer if it has a FAQ page, a Help guide (wtihin the program), or a Knowledge Base.
