I did the same thing a while back Melody. Go to View and have a look at Toolbars. On mine I have everything ticked, but that's just the way mine's set up. If anything's unticked, try ticking it and see what happens.

Hi. Who Moi helped me out. I right clicked on help at the top of the page, then I clicked on Navigation and
VOILA. there it was. So BIG KUDOS to Who Moi!!!! Now I am going to kill Alan, I really am. Yesterday morning I spent over 4 hours with the verizon tech people because my Internet Security Suite is not doing what it's supposed to do. I think there is still a remnant of that nasty 2008 virus on my computer. That's why it combined the two Outlook Express accounts BUT THE GUYS FIXED THAT. Now everything was working just fine (when I went to bed last night). I was to get a call at 11 a.m. this morning from the guys at Radial Point (the Antivirus people), they always fix my antivirus software. They are from Verizon. They are a special group of antivirus software tech guys. Well, Last night, alan goes on the Internet , I wake up this morning to a completely different computer. No more old desktop, now there's a space station on my computer. Instead of the hour glass, there is a spacecraft so when I move the mouse, the spacecraft moves all around the screen. My icons are teeny tiny things. and Half of my icons are gone. I had a different home page, I could not access any of my programs. I went back into the bedroom, woke him up, (he had gone to bed at 5), and I couldn't give a crap. I gave it to him. He thinks I am making a mountain out of a mole hill. He said: "but you know how to fix stuff". I yelled "I was on that computer for over 4 hours yesterday, and you know we are getting the call from Radial Point, but now I can't access anything and the guy can't help me". It's like for example, I do not drive. Imagine giving me the keys to a car and telling me to go and have a good time. Alan had a good time BUT SCREWED UP MY COMPUTER. I did a system restore. THANK GOD. It's all back. I now want to do the thing where he can't make any changes. It's putting in a password so only I can make changes to settings, fonts, etc. HOW DO I DO THIS.??? Before we get a divorce. Melody

Thank goodness for Moi!
I'm thinking you may need to become a two computer household Melody....with passwords for each of you if you're going to continue being a happily married couple. It's good to now you have it operational again, and I agree.....Alan should not be sleeping while you're pulling your hair out trying to work out his alterations.

it is time to get Alan his OWN unit.
Let him mess with it to his heart's content, and then he can fix his own experiments! ![]() Just my opinion!

I am trying to learn how to set up two accounts. One for him, and one as me as administrator. I have no idea how to do this. and if anyone out there can tell me step by step how to set this up, I'd appreciate it very much. (because it's going to be awhile till we can afford a laptop), well, just to make you laugh, I just typed up a document calling it RULES FOR ALAN.
Here's what it says: It's now on the wall right above the computer. And I printed it out in BIG BOLD LETTERS . ------------------------------------------------------------------------- RULES FOR ALAN NEVER DOWNLOAD ANYTHING FROM ZANGO. IT PUTS SPYWARE ON THE COMPUTER. NEVER CLICK ON ANY POPUPS FROM ANYONE. IF YOU SEE AN UPDATE MESSAGE, DO NOT CLICK ON IT. NEVER!!! DO NOT CHANGE ANY SETTINGS ON THIS COMPUTER. If you want to download something, please ask first. If I am asleep, and you download something and it infects the computer, YOU WILL BE TERMINATED!!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Good Lord. I'm almost 61 and I am now writing threatening letters to my husband. lol

That is an excellent idea. I shall run this by him when he gets up. and that's not the only headache I have with this computer. it works fine by the way but last week I had to replace the keyboard. It was not working correctly. It was one of those BIG Microsoft natural keyboards that is broken up in the middle. I LOVED IT. So we went to Staples. They didn't have any of those. They had wireless keyboards for over $75.00. All I wanted was my big oversized keyboard. no luck so I got a Logitech. It's a regular black keyboard with all the keys. Except it's so small and because I'm used to THE OTHER BIG ONE, I am hitting all the wrong keys when I type. I really can't stand this one. I'm looking on ebay now and sure enough I can buy one of those microsoft natural things. but actually, I want a BIG KEYBOARD WITH BIG LETTERS. Alan has poor vision and I want BIG LETTERS. i found a big one sold by some Low vision company. Do any of you use any oversize big keyboards and can you recommend one for me? I would love to just sit down and SEE WHAT I'M TYPING. This one is too small for my hands. Thanks much. melody
