j055 link is very helpful. make sure though when you instllt he itunes to not let it try to syn right off the bat or it can potentially erase the music from the ipod itself.


itunes by default was built to not let us do manual backups or add music that wasnt purcahsed throught itunes store.

i susualy back up all music to anothe folder or a cdrom once in a while in case i have to do a restore or goto another computer.


follow the directions in the tutorial and all should work foine.
