Please forgive me butting in here Mel, but I've been following this information and decided it was time I defragmented as well.
I too would like to ask a related question please. When I went through my installed programs to see if I could delete any, I found the following : Java 6 update 4 Java 6 update 5 ....etc...through to Java 6 update 11 My question is .... can I delete all of the updates except the latest one? Thank you.

medlody, dont fret .
good job on learning about defrag and the difference between bits and bytes. most of the time the d drive is like jo said a recovery drive and will not let you delete it. but doesnt always show in my computer. but will show in defrag mode. koalla. yes you can remove the earlier versions of java but after doing so goto java updater to make sure you still have the lastest aand greatest version running. good job ladies. roger. |

Just in case there isnt enough free space or the available space is less than 15% and you cant free up any more, you can still defrag successfully with one of the third party tools, Diskeeper. It does a great job with even as less as 5% free space. There are trial versions on the DK site.
