Oh yes!!! very true mrsD..
before I installed the WOT on my Firefox browser all the searches I did without knowing what sites might be safe or not...  The WOT {web of trust} puts little colored icons on webpages and search results - green is safe, orange is so so, and red is no no!! and if you accidentally go to a red site the screen will go black with a warning. I really suggest anyone searching for things gets this addon - i have a link to it with more infoi in the sticky threads here. - http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread71642.html The WOT site has an addon for IE now too. in the link above.
