I use Google most of the time but seems it has been hit with some web attack also IE & Google Chome.

I changed my search engine to Ask for now and made sure my Zone Alarm's browser security setting are boosted.
and I use Firefox with the WOT {web of trust } add-on.

really surprised me to see the some of the sites marked as unsafe when doing general searches.
