Heart New Year's Should'a, Would'a, Could's

New Year’s Should’a, Would’a, Could’a

As I celebrate a brand new year
‘Thinkin what I should’a been do’in,
The list I’m makin’ looks familiar
Last years, in one week, pillaged, ruined.

Today’s disasters that cause tears
Be tomorrows laughter-tales heard.
Future things that I most fear
May never even occur.

So my list is hopeful & brief.
My wish, to give selfless gifts
Of love, to listen to others need &
To wake up each morn & live.
