Default A life of painful leisure

I was sitting in the waiting room.
When a nurse asked......
Who I might be
But I'm so much more than the eye can see.
I'd like to think
I'm a dream
A dream two beautiful people had
I'd like to think
I'm a touch
A warm and loving touch
One night of two beautiful people
Holding hands
I'd like to think
I'm a smile
One shared between just the two
I'd like to think
That I'm the first light
Of the moon
Or the morning dew.
Where mom and dad
Smiled
Held hands
And all their dreams came true
If that was
My sole purpose in life
And it very well could be
I'll be content
How could I ever be
More than a dream?
Knowing what that dream meant.

To Lloyd & Violet
from your well meaning but not always on tract daughter

Caroljean, Beautiful! I hope that your parents read it! Parents love to be told that their precious child knows how much they are loved!

Book A life of painful leisure

God made Adam
He was perfect
I know God
He made my husband
And he is perfect
For me
We speak of younger days
Strength
Eagerness
Long hard days
Tired long hard days
Bitter cold days
But always winng the day
Now we have slowed our step
Sleep longer
Eat less
Marvel more
Listen more intence
Sound like our parents
Uncles
And Aunts
Praise our grandparents more
And ourselves far less
See every talent that young people have
That all our prodding can't cercomvent
We two have become one
Not knowing where the other one ends
I'd know his hands
Even if I could not feel
I'd know his voice
Even if I could not hear
I'd know his smile
Even if I could not see
I'd know his scent
Even if he wasn't near
And I know love
Because God put him here
And he is perfect
For me

To my husband Al
Thank you....my best friend

Heart

How nice of you to write this for your DH. He is so lucky to have a DW like you.

Book A life of painful leisure

There are the days that challenge our mind
Far worst are the days that challenge our soul
As God knows the very number of hairs on our head
He knows what our heart holds
We may stumble in speech
And movement of hands
Eyes that dart wildly
And pain that takes our breath away
But that mustard seed
We have in our hearts
Even though its care we neglect
There it grows
Planted by a parent,or a stranger
Or a gift from a friend
There it grows
Telling us....DON'T GIVE UP
DON'T GIVE IN
God tends to this seed
Tempered like the finest sword Archangel Gabriel holds
And faith so strong it rivals Job's
If today you loose the battle, you remember......
I promise....you will never lose your way.

Had a rough weekend...for all of us

Book A life of painful leisure

I can't cry tonight
Can't push away
I hurt tonight
Can't make it stop

Can't even feel anger
Shouldn't anger be hot?

If I could cry tonight
It would drive out the pain
Numb would set in
I could make it stop.

Touch me, please
Bring me back
The edge of forever is so near
Forever is right here.

Don't out the light
Its all dark here
There is nothing to touch
Nothing to see
Nothing to be
Remember,nothing is forever.

Should I come back
will it still be here?
The nothing, I mean
The nothing that is me....
The nothing that was his fault.
The nothing I made him do.
The nothing that I deserved.
Its a forever kind of nothing.......
Haven't you heard.....
And nothing is forever..... or haven't you heard......

I write poems sometimes. I don't always recognize them when I read them back. But I know they are not me today, they were me yesterday. Caroljean

Hi Caroljean thankyou for your beautiful poem. I hope you send more. I really relate to this one. My folks are celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary on 30th January and I was thinking that I would not be me if it wasn't for them. Cheers Aggie
