Default Any Zentanglers out there?

Hi, I'm new here (my New Member post hasn't been approved yet, but it'll be up soon enough), and saw this forum. Right up my alley!

I "Zentangle" or "Doodle draw". I'm part of a community of women that do this type of drawing and many of us use it as a way to deal with pain. *edit*. You can also go to Pinterest and type in Zentangle in their search option to get the idea.

Anyone can do this artform. You just need paper and a pencil. Or the micron fine point pens. It's repetitive drawing that takes you out of the moment of your pain and helps you to concentrate on something else. I find this very, very relaxing. My family says you can always tell when I'm hurting really badly if I've got my sketchpad and pens out. I also paint and create in other mediums, but I use ZT as a way to just step away from the pain for a while.

If this site will allow it, then I will attach a picture of something I've done:*edit*

I love it. Thanks for posting.

Strangely enough, your piece is very reminiscent of some Indigenous Australian paintings that I have in my home.

Lara, that is so cool that my little jellyfish looks like actual artwork in your home! I did the jellyfish for an online contest that Blick arts was having hosting via FaceBook. I drew a picture a day for nine days thinking the contest was based on skill. I found out on the 9th day that it was random drawing. I could have just phoned it in, ya know? LOL

Pam...I love your turtle. My son loves your turtle. We have to move out of the SW USA because one of my 6 diseases will go away when I get out of the desert climate. I told my son that he could get a turtle when we get to the new state. My husband still hasn't started sending out resume's yet, but it's coming. I can't wait because I think turtles are so adorable! Plus we've been researching turtle ownership for a long, long time. It's something my 11 year old can handle on his own, without Mommy having to do daily things to/with like we had to with our cockatiels. I was the only one that could handle them and when I became to sick to do that, we had to return them to the rescue we work with on a volunteer basis. When I got the birds I had 3 diseases. I had to give them up as the newest possible, 7th disease is making extra tasks impossible for me.
