the city lights
clipping along at a steady pace
feet going, too
almost a race

sounds wail through the night
an eerily comforting sound
something so right
about drama by the pound

makes my problems shrink in comparison
and appear easy to solve
so I love the city lights
cliping along at a steady place


The country has its own hectic schedule
underneath its placcid veneer
cows to feed and horses to water
fields to plow and fences to build

doesn't matter much if you are ready
or even if you really care
The work is there for you to do
