you can't turn the clock back
no matter how hard you try
so as that clock is ticking
see what's before your eyes

don't be like me just sitting
sitting on this mountain high
looking down at what may have been
with teardrops in my eyes

you can't embrace a ghost
a mere shadow in your eye
so as that clock is ticking
don't let life pass you by
