I Will Not Cry For You



I will not cry for you, I will not shed a tear

For all of the pain you put them through, their misery and their fear

I will cry for your victims, left to pick up the pieces of shattered lives, shattered dreams

Living with years of haunting nightmares, years of silent screams.



I will not cry for you, now that you are gone

I will cry for your family, the ones that loved you for so long

I will cry for the children whose innocence is lost

For your selfishness, they paid the ultimate cost

I will cry for the mothers, living with pain and regret

And for their children, the ones who will never be able to forget.



I will not cry for you, for your memory lingers on

I will cry for those you have hurt, for those that you still haunt

I will cry for the families whose trust was broken by your heartless deeds

Forsaking them all to fulfill your own selfish needs

I will cry for the people too blinded to see the truth

And those afraid to open their eyes, for they might see the real you



So when you are dead and buried, and you see the tears that I shed

Don't mistake hem for sadness, but happiness instead

For you are finally gone and justice has prevailed

For you, I will not cry, but for the rest I wail.

It is much deeper than anger.

It also demonstrates understanding of human manipulation and destruction. All those innocents who couldn't recognize what was happening until too late.

It is compassion for those hurt as well.

It is a powerful and honest poem.
It's frustrating when you see people being hurt or used and don't even recognize that they are being victimized. And oh how it hurts when we have the glimmer of realization that we have been in this position ourselves. I think it is better to have at least a glimpse of reality (so that there is hope for change) rather than being stuck in the darkness.
