Hi PacoNYC,
Welcome to the dental forum!! The specialist that performs root canal therapy is called an Endodontist. Just so you know. I am in the dental field and can offer you some information here. Your case is complicated and it involves several teeth. Is there any chance you would post your full mouth series of xrays here so I can take a look at the various things you are talking about? Just be sure your real name is not visible. *edit* Thanks,

http://www.aae.org/patients/treatmen...****-pain.aspx what you are claiming about disease being caused by root canal is a myth according to the AAE who are the specialists in root canals. That is a pretty strong counterargument is it not? i have not looked into the specific details. No patient should need to. But my worry is that some of your beliefs are misleading and could cause people to make and regret decisions which are wrong. |

A separate thread for the pro & con discussion of root canals might be a good idea.
If it has good info and stays on topic it might be become a sticky thread for new members to easily find when needed. We don't want this thread to get side tracked away from posters asking for dental help. *If you posted in this thread and still have specific dental questions, please make a new thread for your concerns* new thread link for the Dental forum - http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/ne...newthread&f=89

Jim,
Offering information about root canals from the very organization who governs the solicitation and marketing of root canal therapy is like offering information from Phillip Morris USA about smoking tobacco. It's all about the monetary gain. Just to prove how ironic it is for you to post such a reference when you have not done the research nor do you have any professional knowledge about endodontic therapy.... one of the original founders of the AAE was a dentist by the name of Dr. George Meinig. He was an endodontist, a root canal specialist in private practice as well as an educator in endodontics. Without going into the lengthy history, feel free to find that on your own ... Dr. Meinig wrote a book entitled: "Root Canal Cover-Up". I rest my case. I am not putting up with your personal attacks any longer. *edit* I hope others are wise enough to see that. I sincerely wish you well but I am not going to correspond with you any longer. Bryanna Quote:
