Default Tooth snapped during extraction

Hi,

Hoping Bryanna can give me some good advice again

A few months ago I had a tooth extraction which has now healed fine. The problem is I decided to have a tooth extraction on another tooth which was infected at the root tip. The tooth had a post crown which snapped off during the extraction leaving the root behind. The dentist didn't feel able to remove the root and is referring me to hospital which will take many weeks.

The root is now cracked and my worry is that it will be even more prone to a worse infection than was currently there. I now feel in a worse situation than before the extraction was performed. I have a gap, a cracked root and it will be many weeks before someone can even look at it. Will it be OK until I see the surgeon at the hospital or should I be really worried and expect a serious infection to develop now.
