Default Another procedure after bone graft

I previously posted about problems after bone graft and extraction.

I continue to have a bad taste in my mouth almost 4 weeks after the extraction and bone graft on my lower left. He grafted the extracted tooth and the two teeth that had been missing next to it on the lower left from an accident many years ago.

I continue to have a horrible taste coming from the extraction sight and pain. He said there's infection present and wants to make an incision on the side of my gum, clean out the area really well to help save the graft.

Does this sound like the correct thing to do? Should I seek a second opinion? What caused the infection since I followed every thing perfectly. I did have a dry socket with the extracted tooth so is that the issue?
