Granted this is an older article, but this PhD offers some info to think about. My friend is taking monosodium phosphate as the enamel on her teeth is so thin and she's been drinking fluoridated water all her life. Our city fluoridated in 2009 and she cannot afford to buy "clean" water...I do so far and schlep it in to my apt. My friend also says that her 3 adult children all have dental fluorosis from fluoridation. So does my grandgirl from dental visits, she's 19. Had beautiful teeth and now this.

I live with a lot of dental work from many years but not in recent years as I work on oral hygeine at home and with my remedies. I was born and raised in fluoridated water.

A lot of food for thought here.

Default Taking supplements.........

Just a note to be mindful that we are all individuals with our own needs ...

Vitamin and mineral supplements of any kind should never be taken carelessly. Everyone's needs are unique to them and just because someone proclaims to have been cured by something does not mean that everyone should then jump on the band wagon and start taking it. Supplements are intended to provide additional support when necessary and according to the "individual needs of that person". There are many medications and health conditions that can be contradictory to consuming certain supplements and monosodium phosphate is on that list.

According to the Linus Pauling Institute:
Never exceed the recommended dietary allowance, or RDA, of phosphorus, or take more monosodium phosphate than prescribed without discussing it with your doctor. Ingesting too many phosphate supplements can prove toxic and lead to diarrhea and a hardening of your organs, and also can inhibit your body’s ability to absorb other essential minerals.

Additional Considerations according to Linus Pauling...

Monosodium phosphate and other phosphorus supplements can interact with several medications, so it is important to tell your doctor what else you take prior to ingesting the supplements. Seek medical attention if you experience any adverse reactions to your supplements, including dizziness, an irregular heart rate, confusion, muscle cramps, unusual thirst, decreased urination, or tiredness.

Hi Bryanna, too too bad so so many of the MD's don't advise about possible interactions of the drugs they hand out. That is a huge gripe of mine. I was just reading again a huge article on all the deaths from all the medications and interactions and surgery errors. I live with a big hip replacement error which I call it as I believe the surgeon didn't take better care of me on that table. I put my life in his hands and he's not with me helping me thru what I go thru now.

Caroline,

I know you do a lot of reading and self research.... which is great and I encourage you to keep doing that! I know you are into alternative options and again.... I commend you on that and can totally appreciate how important that is to you.... as it is to me also!

Yes, it is sad that most people are not well informed about their medications. Especially when the medications can do no more than mask the symptoms and potentially result in doing more harm than good under certain circumstances to certain individuals. I think the same holds true for all medicinal recommendations as they need to be applicable to the particular condition, problem and individual needs of the person.
