I had an upper molar (right side) extracted on Tuesday. Xrays showed no sign of sinus perforation, but I am able to move air from my mouth to my maxillary sinus cavity. I've already returned to the dentist once. He placed a collagen sponge and sutures to hold in place. I do not smoke. I have not used straws. I have only eaten mushy foods. And only warm salt wAter rinsed. Nothing smells funky or tastes funky. I'm just concerned about this hole. My dentist says it should heal on its own. Should I be doing anything different? Open to suggestions.
