Hi Blueshores,
From the photos you posted, that round area of extra tissue can be a granuloma. It also looks like you have some ulcerations or ulcerated tissue behind it higher up in the fold of tissue. It is not uncommon for either of these things to develop after an extraction. The granuloma can heal on it's own if there is no infection or it can get quite large. So it is best to have a quick consult with an oral surgeon to get a definitive diagnosis. I would suggest that you locate a local oral surgeons office an explain you just moved long distance and had 2 upper wisdom teeth extracted prior to moving. You have developed bumps of tissue above the second molar and would like a quick consult to examine the area. The fee would be minimal and best to have this evaluated. Make sure to keep the area clean, use a soft bristle tooth brush with gentle but thorough brushing... also brush and floss everywhere else to keep the buildup of overall plaque to a minimum. It would also help to rinse with warm salt water 3-4 times a day for about 2 weeks or so, especially after pm brushing. Bryanna Quote:
