Default Multiple toothaches AGAIN!!!!!

April 10, 2008 I had the oral surgery where they cut a slice off the roof of my mouth and sewed it to my lower left and lower center gums. I took 500mg of Cipro for 10 days.

Fast forward to about the early part of May I think, I can't remember...and I had multiple toothaches. HOLY COW -- I applied for wimp of the year. Three to five teeth ached. BUT with enough Oxycodone, you can stand the pain.

May 7th my dentist said I needed a root canal. ODD?? But May 9th they worked me in and did the first part. I was put back on another antibiotic because my jaw was infected. This time a huge dose for ten days or two weeks.

Around June 5th or so I noticed that ...... if I pushed my lower jaw teeth, on the left side, with my tongue, I had an instant toothache --- times several teeth.

NO WAY THIS CAN BE HAPPENING. I have the pain meds to stop this until I can see a dentist but part of me is asking if it isn't another jaw infection.

But that can't happen again can it? So soon? How can I need 3 more root canals? And why can't we just pull all these teeth and go to false teeth? Remember, I had false teeth once before. Not great, but better than this pain level again and again and again.

Default root canals or false teeth

Dave,

The teeth on your lower left side where they did the grafting should not hurt when you press your tongue on them. If they are alive and healthy, it would be normal for them to be temperature sensitive but hurting to pressure is something entirely different.

As I have mentioned here before..... root canals or antibiotics do not cure an infected tooth because the necrotic infectious tissue cannot be removed from the tiny unaccessible canals. People are typically told that the infection reoccured or their body rejected the root canal or lets try a different antibiotic ........... all BS!!.......... the tooth is still infected and that's what hurts and yes, the infection will proliferate to the jaw bone. So what seems like recurring infections is really the same infection that has proliferated into various strains of infectious bacteria.

By the way, all pain medications deplete the intestines of good bacteria. Our bodies are designed to attack foreign elements introduced into our digestinal tract. However, the pain meds eat up the good bacteria rendering us to an unhealthy intestinal flora. So it really would help you to supplement with a reputable probiotic.

It may be wise to re-evaluate your situation before you put any more time and money into unhealthy teeth. Losing teeth is never easy or pleasant for anyone. But at what expense are you hanging onto infected teeth that will compromise your immune system? Keep in mind that conventional dentistry will not know any other way other than to keep root canaling until you say enough.

Here is a website that may help you find a dentist, if you are interested, who can give you a healthier perspective on your dental health. http://www.iaomt.org/

Other than this, there is nothing else I can offer you because your situation is not going to change unless you take action to change it. I know this sucks!! I deal with it everyday and pray that the mindset of conventional medicine and dentistry changes before it's too late for many of us to recover!

Bryanna

I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. I asked my wife about the "Silver" fillings and (blush) she said our dentist quit using the "silver" fillings a few years ago. She brought me the mirror and sure enough, I can see one filling way in the back that might be silver, or it might be gold, I cannot tell for sure. I might have some where I can't see them, but now that she mentioned it, he has been using something that matches the color of the tooth.

The Oral Surgeon worked me in. Says my lower teeth, where he worked, are fine. It is on the upper portion of that side, and he thumped #15 with a metal thing. After he coaxed me down off the ceiling, he continued to look around. He thinks tooth 15 is "bad". We called our dentist Saturday morning around 8:30am. He is an early riser and did not mind.

My wife talked to him because I was walking around holding my right hand over the right ear and my left hand over the left ear and jaw. I did not feel like talking.

I put the ora-jel liquid on the teeth and it hurt worse. The skin around the teeth became "numb", but the "teeth" (maybe just #15 and it was --- uh --- causing the other nerves to become inflamed?) hurt worse. I took 30mg of oxycodone Friday night and 15mg Sat morning. After a couple of hours I regurgitated everything back up. Oxycodone had never caused me to vomit before. Hmmmm. After using 75-90mg a day for several days with no problems, this small amount was rejected. I can give a couple of reasons for that, but this is not a Pain Med thread.

I am controlling most of the pain by avoiding certain physical actions, chewing on the right side, avoiding cold air on that part of my mouth, etc. A hot wash cloth did great. Took care of the ear ache and relieved the pain of the teeth. And Allieve or what ever they call it. 6 a day helped. Per our dentist.

So the dentist tomorrow to fix #31's crown and look at 15. No root canals for over 30 years and now I may need my second one in 5 weeks? A heck of a coincidence.

Bryanna, thank you so much for your suggestions. I have forwarded this info to all 5 of our children. Two of them still use our dentist. Take care -- Dave
