Chat Let me know what you think

Ok so I'm sure this is the hundred thousandth One of these posted, but I just sort of wanted to get it out.

I've had a pretty strange life so far, There has been quite a few downs. I dont want everything handed to me though;whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger. I've found that I can get through Anything life throws at me. And the only person who I have truly been able to depend on Has been me so far including all family. The other side of that coin is I'm tired of having to be strong. I broke my leg about 9/10 months ago.Now i have a plate and 5 screws and a hefty Bill or pile of bills. I moved out of state for work 4 months before. I hadn't met too many people by then. So all on me again. In my lap I had: Bills,Pain,The fun of sitting alone on the couch for 3 months while my roommate worked, (Broke my driving leg)And Being single which I hate more than the dentist and Work combine.
Things were pretty shitty for a long while But I did my PT and I was on top of my bills and made plans to test out my leg on a 6 month hike and met some really good friends and A Great Girl, pain was fading really nicely ... and then some.If you've never broken your leg You don't know how nice it is to have 2 good ones. I was truly happy for the first time in a good number of years. Just so I'd know what to miss I guess because Most of it has Gone to hell over the last month and a half.

Girlfriend: Gone

Medical Bills on payment track: Welp Heres the thing...
They out of the blue decided to send Me to Collections for $30,000+ and to about 5 different places. 5 Different collectors=5 different bills due at once.

Subsiding Pain: It's back With a buddy arthritis @ 22 nice

Appalachian Trail: Depends on the gimp stick Now I guess

Work: Gotta pay the bills
But I'm going to have to find another way I work for Douches

So Everything I had that I wasn't really used to in the first place but it was really nice Is out the window and I guess it's life making me stronger again.

yay
What the F* man? It's so frustrating
But I'll Troop on What else can I do? But really comeon
Meh
Anyway Questions comments? go for it

Darwin,

What are you looking for? Sympathy, advice.....what?

Life can really suck sometimes no doubt about it but it's what you choose to do about it that can make the difference.

Have you talked to a mental health professional or your regular doctor about the depression. Medication can help depression.

It could be you haven't had any responses because, like me, others aren't really sure what your looking for.

I'm sorry for what you have been through and for the lack of responses.
You might find more activity on the chronic pain forum.

You have been through a lot for a 22 yr old away from home.
Yes, we have all been through a lot but in different ways.

We could all tell you horror stories.
I've been trying to get some help from work comp for 5 years.
I owe hundreds of thousands of dollars to pharmacies and even more to doctors, outpatient surgery centers and have a lawyer who won't even call me back or help me. I suffer horrible pain. But I do have a spouse to lean on.
I live in denial a lot of the time and I think it is because what is happening in my real life is so horrible.

Of course my problems don't help yours at all.
I do hope your leg heals properly and the arthritis doesn't cause you too much pain, esp since summer is coming.

Please take good care of yourself.........Hope

Hey, howdee!!

Depression -- clinical trials is a great (and free) way to get drugs. http://www.centerwatch.org/patient/studies/cat164.html

I was in the prozac studies in Boston for over two years back when dinosaurs roamed the planet. Free drugs. Someone to touch base with. Don't have to put up with all the psycho-babble, self-analytical crap (unless you want to).

Don't worry about all the creditors circling like a bunch of crazed carrion birds. You can make arrangements to pay each one of them a small amount every week until they're paid off. Or, you can consult with consumer credit counseling (a free service, not a paid one) and get them to make arrangements and to handle it. That gets rid of the phone calls. Or, you can file bankruptcy. Creditors hate that

For the teeth: dental school -- much cheaper. Or, check out http://www.craigslist.org -- this time of year, dental students are looking for models for their finals -- that would be free.

Are you back to work yet?? Craigslist is good for finding jobs too. Also good for finding paid clinical trials to participate in. If you're in a somewhat citied area (Boston, for example), they have sleep studies that pay quite a bit of money.

Hey, arthritis at 22. That just means that by the time you're 65, they'll probably have a cure for it

Girlfriend's gone. You have a problem with that??

The Universe is pretty sneaky about making sure that we're living the way that we should, in the place that we should. Obstacles usually means there's disharmony in your life and The Universe will keep getting up in your face until you do something about it.

Oh yeah, one more thing:

Yeah. It took me a lifetime to figure that one out.

Seems like The Universe guides our steps. Sometimes we are to go in a certain direction because there is a lesson that we need to learn. Sometimes we are needed to teach someone else. My son and I call it 'destiny' -- "there's that old 'destiny thing' again"

Looking back on my life, I can't tell you how my times I and other people have come together because ALL OF US were needed in a crisis situation to save someone from getting hurt ... or worse.

When you really pay attention to what's happening around you ... and in your life ... it's actually beautiful to see how 'things' and 'people' fit together. It's truly amazing. Sometimes 'things' do make sense

Hugs.

Default You asked for our opinions,so here goes.....

Hi Darwin, I'd say you have been through a pretty bad stretch lately, but you are young.....you'll look back on this as just a very small part of your life!

You've already been given some sound advice on how to deal with these issues,so I'll just say this.....get through it & look forward. You have your entire life ahead of you, make the most of it. Choose to be positive, active, and get everything you want out of life.

I think this depression is short-lived,it's brought on by current circumstances, and I assure you that life will get better for you. Alot of that is up to you! Arthritis at your age? Maybe get a second opinion. Do some research. Learn to adapt to your limitations. I'm almost 58 now & feel like I'm much older.....from arthritis & alot more. But at your age I was healthy, so I have alot of empathy for you, if you are gonna suffer pain the remainder of your life. I suggest you learn about what role diet & exercise can play on remaining mobile & easing pain.

I also had a bad fracture (of my right arm), many years later I had plates & screws put in, my doc told me I'd most likely get arthritis,he was right.....however I also have it in my hands, feet, knees, and now my hips! You can let this get you down or choose to let it be.....something you have but it doesn't have you!

Good luck, Buttons
