I have been sent to a psychologist who specializes in Neuro-Feedback. I had a consultation with him last Friday and am on the fence of how I feel about it. It almost sounds like the "mind of matter" phrase that most people w/o depression insist we can do. But not quite exactly the same.
He does a brain mapping and then we discuss what he saw. Over the next 10-20 and possibly 30 sessions, he will teach me (or rather my mind) how to react/not react when I think of something depressing or when stress is too overwhelming in life, when I have one of my psychogenic NES and any chronic pain. Seems like he can help with a lot. So I question, "Why haven't I heard of this before and why is someone just now suggesting this after many years of medical problems"? If any one has tried this, please let me know how it worked for you. Or if anyone knows anyone who has tried this or knows anything about it, I would love to hear from you. Basically, I guess I am saying, all ideas, thoughts, concerns and any other help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance, M
